Hot Soup is a Maryland-based trio featuring Sue Trainor, Christina Muir and Jennifer Camp. This is a nationally simmering food group: Their most recent album -- called Soup Happens -- was ranked 23rd in frequency of airplay on folk radio last year, and the trio was 55th in frequency of airplay out of all artists played on folk radio. Please welcome Hot Soup!

From Maryland, Hot Soup brings us a delicious array of songs, scrumptious harmonies and tasty instrumental licks. Please welcome Sue Trainor, Christina Muir and Jennifer Camp -- Hot Soup!

Sue Trainor, Christina Muir, and Jennier Camp -- our featured artists this evening -- call themselves "Hot Soup." They are all solo artists who first began performing together as a trio in 1996 at a Folk Alliance conference. It was an emergency showcase situation: Christina’s guitar was locked in the instrument check, so she gathered her friends to support her in harmony. The impromptu trio was offered two gigs immediately, and that was all it took to stir the pot. Happily, their delicious harmonies have been bubbling up ever since. Please welcome Hot Soup!

We’re in a fine kettle of Soup tonight! These three SOUPerb vocalists throw everything into their Soup pot -- ballads, blues, swing, retro, funny songs, and more. They add spicy harmonies and delicious licks on guitar, banjo, and dulcimer, too! Please welcome Sue Trainor, Christina Muir, and Jennifer Camp -- Hot Soup!

These ladies like to break the rules -- at least the ones about playing with food. You certainly will agree that they are SOUPerb vocalists, SOUPremely harmonious -- and almost always tasteful. You also will note that there is carry-out; the SOUPer Market will happily sell you Soup-To-Go after the first course (which is emerging from the kitchen now). Spoons ready? Please welcome Hot Soup!

Sue Trainor, Christina Muir, and Jennifer Camp are a tasty vocal trio called Hot Soup. They’re based in Maryland, and they say they’ve enjoyed many adventures as they tour the country. One of the most notable is a folk festival in West Virginia called the Avalon Folk Festival, and the thing that makes the Avalon Folk Festival adventurous and notable is that Avalon is a clothing-optional venue. So you know what you’re supposed to do if you get nervous onstage? [audience responds] Well, these ladies have actually seen their audience naked -- what effect do you suppose that has? We’re about to find out! Please welcome Hot Soup!
