Sue Trainor was named 1999 "Best New Artist" by the Children's Music Web. Her first children's album -- Under Tables, Out Back Doors -- earned Oppenheim Toy Portfolio "Plantinum" and Parents' Choice "Recommended" honors, and won the 1999 Wammie Award (Washington Area Music Association) as "Best Album" for kids. She has twice been awarded Wammies as "Best Vocalist" for kids. Sue's first recording for kids was produced by GRAMMY nominee Marcy Marxer. Most of the songs are original and feature a wide range of musical styles (including Old Timey, Dixieland, and even a Polka!). In addition to the smooth harmonies of Hot Soup, musicians on the album include Bruce Molsky (fiddle), Cathy Fink (banjo), Marcy Marxer (hammered dulcimer, mandolin, percussion), Karl Kalbaugh (didgeridoo), "Big" Joe Maher (drums), John Previti (bass), John Cocuzzi (piano and vibes), the University Park Elementary School Fourth Grade Singers, and many more! Recommended for ages 4 to 7. |

Original songs "traditional to the bone, steeped in romantic lore, outfitted with guitars, banjo, recorder, mandolin, bouzouki, and pennywhistle, and sung . . . with plenty of old-fashioned gusto" (The Washington Post). Peter Benson was the principle writer and lead vocalist in Cornucopia, joined by Sue, John Gorozdos, and John Jacobs. |
